Harmful acids may cause serious problem with your mouth if oral hygiene is not practiced. You may get these chemicals from starchy foods, such as loaves of bread, cookies and breakfast cereal. Oral plaque buildup can cause gum irritation, redness and bleeding, which will eventually lead to periodontal disease if left untreated. If you are affected with gum issues, your teeth can get loose and eventually will leave you with no choice but to get your teeth taken out permanently. Luckily, you can keep your teeth forever with healthy mouth through daily brushing and flossing. Professionals suggest two times a day brushing using soft-bristled toothbrush.
Use a toothpaste that can combat tooth decay and is accredited by a dental group. The mouth problem can be prevented with the use of antimicrobial and fluoride toothpastes. Your toothbrush may not in a position to reach some areas of your teeth, so flossing can surely help. You can prevent oral plaque buildup from developing in between teeth by flossing every day. Experts recommend to use 18 inches of floss and rub it slowly between your teeth by winding it around the middle fingers of your two hands. It's also suggested to brush not only the surfaces of your teeth but also the inner areas of your teeth. Also, clean your tongue as gentle as you can to freshen your breath and take out bacteria that stick to your tongue.
Regular using dental floss can ensure the health of your mouth when practiced with regular cleaning. Washing your mouth with antimicrobial mouth rinse greatly cuts down on activity of bacteria and oral plaque buildup. Having said that, consultation with your dentist is required before trying any oral products. Not every products are effective for you and if you have a kid, you have to keep in mind what is not recommended for your kids. If your child is six years old or below, you need to keep in mind that fluoride mouth rinse isn't recommended because he or she tends to swallow a few amount of the rinse.
